The VEX Robotics Design System offers participants an exciting platform for learning about areas rich with career opportunities spanning science, technology,engineering and math (STEM). These are just a few of the many fields participants can explore by creating with VEX Robotics technology. Beyond science and engineering principles, a VEX Robotics project encourages teamwork, leadership and problem solving among groups. It also allows educators to easily customize projects to meet the level of participants’ abilities. The affordable VEX platform is expanding rapidly and is now found in middle schools, high schools and university labs around the globe. Robotics hobbyists also appreciate the advanced capabilities of the VEX System.
This course helps participants to harness the capabilities of the robot set and effectively plan, build, and program robots. They will then examine the pieces in the robot set and the roles they play in construction. Next, will learn practical building techniques, like how to build sturdy structures and work with gears. Finally, participants will follow step-by-step instructions for building, programming, and testing sample robots. VEX Classroom Lab Kits make it easy to bring the VEX Robotics Design System into the classroom. The course starts with the Classroom Lab Kit, ideal for 2-5 participants, then increases the challenge level by adding Expansion Kits for sensors, drive systems and pneumatics. For larger classes, we simply add Kits for every additional 2-5 participants. Classroom Lab Kits include everything needed to design, build, power and operate robots. We have the choice between our basic PIC Microcontroller or the advanced and more powerful Cortex Microcontroller. The programming languages used include: easyC V2 , easyC PRO, and ROBOTC.
